Email is your biggest competitor
Thursday, November 25th, 2010
I mean, I get hundreds of email in my normal day at my current gig. And it’s ridiculous, as most can easily be replaced if we just used an issue tracker and wiki (which we have plenty of). Not only would using an issue tracker maintain order (tracking, monitoring, context, etc) it would let us [...]

Is it just me or is Gmail unusually slow this past week or so?

Remember the Milk
Sunday, March 11th, 2007
I’ve been using this Remember the Milk website off and on since being introduced to it in early February (thanks Jeremy). What is it? Take a gander over on their website and you will see, the focus is on providing a tool for users that will make it easier to organize and remember things. Such [...]

Managing your Email

I’ve posted about this a few times already. While the “12-steps” pokes a little fun, it’s unfortunately true. A couple of my favorite snippets from the 12-steps: Deal immediately with any e-mail that can be handled in two minutes or less but create a file for mails that will take longer. Again with the files. [...]

Context switching… it’s harmful. How can we “get things done”?

More on increasing productivity – get in the “zone”
Wednesday, April 19th, 2006
Funny, I’ve never come across any specific posts or articles on this before – until now. I’ve long been one to preach this “zone” that we get into. Especially while at my last job, I found I rarely got into my “zone” unless I either came in a couple hours before anyone else (that rarely [...]

It’s time for Google Calendar!
Friday, April 14th, 2006
Well, I’ve been speculating about this for quite some time, I’m happy to see it’s finally arrived! That’s right, Google has released it’s Calendar and as expected it is integrated with Gmail. Excellent!
