Email is simple, the client should be as well. However, outlook (Office for that matter) seems to get more bloated all the time. There should be a global setting that you can effectively disable the functions and features you could do without. Similarily, shortcut key mapping should be more flexible.
Either that, or there should be an alternative to connecting to exchange at my workplace.

My latest error with Outlook:
Are you serious? Given I haven’t made any changes to this installation EVER (that’s IT’s job around here), it’s just another mark against Microsoft’s Outlook in my books.
